I love a challenge. And not in the trite or unauthentic way that the phrase is usually used, but sincerely. I believe that all the drama and obstacles and seemingly insurmountable odds that I have met have made me the strong, resilient and optimistic person that I am today. Recently, after a particularly frustrating staff meeting, many sympathetic people came to tell me that everything would be fine and that people would adapt to the changes, but it would take time. I just smiled and told them that I loved my job. A couple gave me a puzzled smile back, as if questioning whether or not I was being sarcastic. I responded by saying that I truly did and every experience, negative or positive, is an opportunity to learn. At that meeting I learned that no amount of bickering would actually cause my head to explode, no matter how it may feel at the moment. I found that to be a valuable and reassuring lesson - truly, not sarcastically. No matter how bad things get or how bad they seem, eventually it passes...unless of course...you pass first...
